About this trip

The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon is a breathtaking destination that truly lives up to its name. Join us for an unforgettable journey through this stunning landscape aboard a horse-drawn covered wagon, where our knowledgeable tour guides will share fascinating stories about the canyon's rich history, dating back to the 19th century. As the gentle horses navigate the scenic Pine Creek Rail Trail, which spans over 45 miles and plunges nearly 1,500 feet deep, you'll be captivated by the awe-inspiring views that surround you. Along the way, indulge in a delightful Cowboy BBQ Cookout, savoring the flavors of the outdoors while soaking in the natural beauty of the canyon.

Our adventure continues with a visit to the World Little League Museum, where one of the standout attractions is the remarkable Global Connections Touch Table. This unique feature offers visitors the rare opportunity to explore information about every local Little League program worldwide, making it a must-see for sports enthusiasts. Additionally, we will take a guided tour of Williamsport’s Millionaire Row Historic District, where you can immerse yourself in the area's rich heritage. The Thomas Taber Museum awaits, showcasing the history of north central Pennsylvania from its early American Indian roots to contemporary life. With exhibits ranging from an American Indian gallery to a captivating collection of over 300 toy trains, and period rooms that transport you through time, there’s something for everyone. Finally, we’ll explore the Rowley House, a stunning Victorian mansion built in 1888, and conclude our day with a visit to the Corning Glass Museum, where you can witness the artistry of glass blowing and browse the charming gift shop for unique souvenirs.

HISTORY:

The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, also referred to as the Pine Creek Gorge, stretches for over 45 miles with depths of nearly 1500 feet. The dynamic topography of the PA Grand Canyon creates many scenic wonders, including steep canyon walls and waterfalls.

The PA Grand Canyon is part of the Tioga State Forest, beginning just south of Ansonia, PA, near Wellsboro. One of the most popular attractions to the canyon is the Pine Creek Rail Trail, a converted railroad bed that travels along the Pine Creek Gorge at the floor of the canyon.

"USA Today cites the Pine Creek Rail Trail as one of the 10 great places to take a bike tour in the world. Because of the gentle grade, the trail offers easy pedaling, hence it can be experienced with minimal physical impact and basic biking gear. And of course it also makes for good hiking and running."

We had a beautiful day. Ester was fantastic. A great experience.

The trip was lovely. I loved the Claridge Hotel and ambience. The buffet was a little underwhelming. I was afraid to take a hamburger as a food choice. The staff from hotel came around regularly with water as it was a hot day. As far as the air show, I felt it could have been more exciting.

A Broadway Day to Remember: Bus Trip, Lunch at Tony's and Show From the moment the bus pulled away, the trip felt smooth and stress-free. The driver had a calm, friendly demeanor that put everyone at ease, making the ride feel more like a cozy prelude to the day ahead than just transportation. Lunch at Tony’s was perfect. Delicious food, warm atmosphere, and that unmistakable New York charm—it all came together for a satisfying meal that lived up to the occasion. Broadway Brilliance Although the seats were located a bit higher up in the theater, the view turned out to be surprisingly delightful. Once the performance began, any reservations about the seating melted away—the show was captivating, and the elevated vantage point added a unique perspective to the experience. Adding to the charm of the day was our wonderful tour assistant, Barbara. She was not just helpful—she brought warmth and grace to every moment. Whether she was coordinating details behind the scenes or sharing a smile, her presence made the entire outing feel that much more special. Between the attentive bus driver, the thrilling Broadway show, the delicious lunch at Tony’s, and Barbara’s lovely support, it was a day filled with good vibes and great memories.

it was an awesome day adventure. The food was delicious and bountiful. The scenery of the Chesapeake Bay was nice. We had trivia, music, and bingo to make the bus ride go by faster. And I had to use a cane and a little difficulty walking and the team of Esther and Limondo were so kind and accommodating! Thanks for a great time. We will be booking more trips for the fall.

Enjoyed the show! Esther was terrific!!! Didn't care as much for his restaurant - found it very difficult to hear/converse with those on other side of our table (too much distance between us). Food was plentiful but just OK. (I prefer the usual Italian restaurant we go to instead).
